Data acquisition
1. Apatity broadband 3C station and Apatity array
Data from sensors of Apatity seismic array, which is situated 17 km apart from Apatity are transmitted to the data processing center via radio-modems. There the data are combined with Apatity broadband 3C station data and placed into disk loop.
Data are stored into the disk loop for 14 days. During this time they are scanned by automatic detector of seismic events (see EL program system, Data processing), which selects parts of recordings corresponding to seismic events, saves them in a form of CSS 3.0 files and makes automatic location. At the same time, a saving program converts all data from the disk loop to CSS 3.0 and writes them to hard disks. The data are stored on compact disks. Thus, KB GS RAS store all information incoming from Apatity stations.
2. Stations in Khibiny Massif (GFR,RASV) and in Spitsbergen (BRBA, BRBB)
All the stations are short-period 3-component seismic stations GBV 316B by GeoSig (Switzerland). Continuous data acquisition is carried out by software developed in KB GS RAS. Currently data are sent to the processing centre on magnetooptic diskettes (in near future we are planning to use flash or Ziv devices, software is already adopted). In Apatity the data are rewritten to compact disks for permanent storage. The data are processed by SDAS3C system.
