The project is devoted to comprehensive study of an aftershock activity. The fundamental problem to be solved is developing a methodology for forecasting aftershock activity in the regions with different types of seismicity.

The main task of 2013 was to form catalogs of aftershock sequences from Kamchatka Peninsula and Kuril Islands, Altay Sayany area, Norhern Caucasus, Barents Sea Shelf. The catalogs should contain information about the mainshocks and its aftershocks including coordinates (latitude, longitude), times and magnitudes or energy classes. From mainshocks and some strong aftershocks moments tensors and macroseismic effects.

The aftershocks were chosen by means of Molchan and Dmitrieva (1992) algorithm from seismic catalogs of Kamchatka Branch of Geophysical Survey of RAS, Kola Branch of Geophysical Survey of  RAS, Krasnoyarsk Institute of Geology of Minerals, and Geophysical Survey. All the data and macroseismic information are also provided in the books of "Earthquakes of Russia" published (in Russian) by Geophysical Survey of RAS,.

The moments tensors were taken from Global CMT catalog.

You can also download these 4 catalogs as a single zip-archive.
